Gardener at Heart - Book One

Wild Sunflower (Helianthus annuus)

No nerves, nor eyes,

And yet I gaze face to face

Upon that ultimate sunflower

And wonder what huge amazing pollinators it calls,

Although it never seems to fill and droop

As I do now

Above Earth’s cupped hands;

She has promised

That what seeds escape the beaks

She will plant.
